Some limited delivery of programmes is available, but projects such as About Boys Course (ABC) 5-11 are now available for those interested in being trained and accredited to run them in their local areas. Email your interest.
We are available to deliver training in a range of areas such as boys' underachievement; boys and transitions; sexual health and SRE and targeting and engaging young fathers, but we are currently focussing on work with boys 0-5. Please see below for brief examples and basic costs. Please contact Trefor Lloyd if you are interested in worker training.
We are available for consultancy and evaluation, especially focusing on work with boys and young men and looking at effectiveness and impact.
If you want to discuss work with the Boys’ Development Project please email or phone 0207 732 9409.

While most of our time is taken up planning and delivering programmes targeting boys and their families we are able to deliver training to staff. At the moment we have the accredited training for those wanting to deliver the About Boys Course 0-5 and 5-11 (click here for details) and we also have training for professionals working with boys in the early years.
There are a number of concerns about boys in the early years, they include:
Differences between girls and boys in CLLD;
Discipline and boundary problems for some boys;
Boys low levels of interest and motivation to engage with the curriculum and formal work generally;
Conditions such as ADHD being diagnosed earlier (commonly held view that diagnosis and medication should be 7 and over);
Of those parents seeking help with their children, an estimated four out of five seek help about their sons.
We are now able to offer workshops, training programmes and general talks on boy’s development and achievement. All of these are designed on a strong evidence-base and extensive experience of the trainer.
Here are some examples:
Basic cost of a trainer is £700 per day, but will vary in terms of numbers of participants; how far away from London; travel and any accommodation and numbers of workshops.
All events include PowerPoint note sheets and other handouts for participants to take away.
Courses above are examples of what is available, if you would like to discuss any of these please contact Trefor Lloyd on 0207 732 9409 or 07788781759 and email tlloyd@boysdevelopmentproject.org.uk

A great venue
For many of us, finding value for money venues is a challenge.
Conference and meeting space prices have gone up significantly in the last
few years. We have delivered training in Manchester and have been using
a new venue, a stones throw from Piccadilly Station. If you are looking
for a great training venue, they are worth a look.
